We are lucky enough to regularly host top international trainers who pass on their wealth of knowledge and experience at the clinics we run at Waterhouse Farm. Waterhouse also provides the perfect venue for more local trainers to hold their classes.

Bettina Drummond

In 2006 and 2007 Bettina enthralled a packed gallery with her clinic, demonstrating how to raise the disciplines of dressage to an art form. Bettina spent 17 years in Portugal under the tutelage of the late great doyen of dressage Nuno Oliveira. She now has private stables in Connecticut and continues to train internationally. We are privileged therefore that she will be returning to Waterhouse for a 4 day clinic in June 2008.

Peter Cook

Peter was the Principal at Porlock Vale Equitation Centre and went on to become Head of Equestrian studies at Bicton College. He has also benefited from training with Nuno Olivera, and has himself trained horses and riders all over the world. He is the owner of a Lipizzaner, and holds monthly dressage clinics at Waterhouse as well as side saddle training, for which he has won international acclaim.

Ian Wright

Ian spent a great deal of time training with the Olympic three day event gold medallist and Olympic team trainer, Bertie Hill, as well as other top show jumping trainers in Germany. He has been a successful event rider, show jumper and dressage rider as well as riding race winners over hurdles and fences. He holds frequent clinics at Waterhouse covering a multitude of equestrian disciplines.

Janet Hinder

Jane is a fully qualified and insured BHSI. In the past she was a highly successful event rider, and was placed 7th at Burghley. She is available for lessons in all equestrian disciplines at Waterhouse Farm.

Michelle Werrett (above)

Michelle Werrett is a qualified side saddle instructor, registered with the Side Saddle Association. As well as riding, Michelle advises on saddle fitting, turnout and etiquette. She hunts regularly on Exmoor, riding exclusively side saddle. She is the present holder of the Side Saddle Association hunting cup, a national award for hunting side saddle, which she has won on four occasions.

Stephen Hadley (above)

In the last 12 months we have also hosted clinics by John Lassetter and Stephen Hadley who in their respective disciplines of Dressage and show jumping regularly represented Great Britain. These clinics were a resounding success and we expect to see them back soon.

We also welcome enquiries from trainers looking to run their own clinics and lessons.

In addition Susannah Downey, specializing in dressage and general flatwork, is available for one on one lessons at your convenience by arrangement.

Waterhouse continues to host many riding club events and plans to extend the range of clinics over the coming year.
